The identification and characterisation of biomarkers of intake and the biological effects of diets, foodstuffs and specific food components is one of the big challenges regarding the interaction between nutrition and health.
The MARCASALUD project, financed by the “Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad”, started in 2014 with the aim to contribute to this area. Eight research groups from seven national organisations and universities participate in it, all of which have proven scientific careers in the field of nutrition and health.
